The result is a quiet, transitional sconce with a vertical line that feels tailored rather than ornate. Nine finishes, from Black and Natural Iron to Soft Gold, Sterling and Modern Brass, let it sit comfortably beside the faucet or hardware you already have.

Standing 29.5 inches tall and only 5.5 inches wide, it is a strong choice for flanking a bathroom mirror, where a pair adds height to a narrow wall. It also suits an entry, a dining room wall or either side of a living room fireplace, mounted with the glass a little above eye level.

One medium-base socket takes a BT15 bulb up to 100 watts, and the opal glass turns it into an even, glare-free glow that is kind to faces. The fixture is damp rated for bathrooms, and it is made to order in Vermont.

Designer tip: Mount a pair 30 to 36 inches apart around the mirror so light falls evenly across both sides of the face.

Handcrafted in the USA by Modern American Blacksmiths. Hubbardton Forge has designed and built its lighting in Vermont since 1974.
